Hi! I’m Ilana. I have been a Registered Dietitian (RD) since 2002 and am also a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). I am also a busy mom to 3 teenagers and a dog. I have expertise in cardiovascular (heart) health, diabetes, pulmonary (lungs) and nephrology (kidneys). My approach uses intuitive eating and mindfulness principles with a weight-neutral and body positive approach!

Figuring out what to eat and what kind of diet “I should follow” can be quite overwhelming and can breed many negative thoughts around food and nutrition. My mission is to help you learn and develop accurate, research-based nutrition knowledge and education so you can make healthy choices for your body! Remember, we are all different and have different needs and wants. This really matters!

I believe that healthy eating involves more than simply the foods you eat! Together, we will understand your dynamic relationship with food while eliminating shame and judgement are so important so you can mindfully make healthy nutrition choices. Keep in mind: food nourishes your body. food can affect your moods. we eat for different reasons. food choices can impact your health and health management, even sometimes results!

Regina is Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Work (OCSWSSW) and holds a Master degree in Education (ME.d). Regina has a strong understanding of the psychosocial development of children and teens, and she can establish a unique therapeutic alliance with the clients she works with by fostering an empathic, trusting, and nurturing therapeutic environment. Regina has worked within the areas of family conflict, parenting support, career counselling, behavioural counselling, fertility/maternal mental health, and most recently in a Family Health Team. In addition to being a Clinical Therapist, Regina has over a decade of experience working with children, youth, and individuals of varying ages. Regina has worked as an educator in the school board with children with special needs– learning disabilities/ADHD and behavioural issues.
